Staff, parents and children came together for a Christmas at a party in the Twinkle House "Making sense of your senses" centre in Skelemersdale.

Twinkle House is a Charity that makes a difference to the lives of children and young people with disabilities and additional needs, providing  sensory based practical support to children and young people 0 -18 with disabilities, learning difficulties and additional needs in West Lancashire and neighbouring areas.  We also provide relaxing sensory sessions for adults with physical or learning difficulties at a subsidised cost.

"Our aim is to help prevent difficulties from worsening by providing meaningful coping strategies to help improve our clients’ ability to manage their difficulties and provide essential support to their carers. We strive to improve the emotional and mental well-being of our clients, promoting positive behaviours, helping children and young people be healthy, enjoy and achieve, stay safe and make a positive contribution (supporting 4 out of 5 of the Governments Every Child Matters outcomes).
We provide our support in a non-threatening safe, calming environment that is adaptable and acceptable for those with a wide variety of difficulties and impairments. Support is enhanced using our Multi-sensory studio with access to hi-tech specialist equipment and resources. Sessions are structured to meet specific agreed aims/targets and are supported by our highly experienced staff and volunteer team.
Our studio is a high-tech, interactive controlled learning environment and exceptional teaching aid that we use to support National Curriculum plans, help clients improve focus and engagement, encourage interaction and exploration, improve learning and development of skills, and promote positive behaviours for those with disabilities and additional needs, physical or learning difficulties and provides an ideal setting for complete physical and mental relaxation for those with attention, anxiety and behavioural difficulties and those who are stressed."
