• Are the protesters a vocal minority, trying to hold the tide back? Yes, No?
• Three years on down the consultation path, Is there an element of inevitability to the final outcome?
• Should we be negotiating hard for further guarantees, not trying to turn our backs to the metaphorical builders lorry hurtling down the road towards us.
• Where does the argument go next, what further questions should be asked and to whom?
• Or, is it all completely irrelevant as the nearby impending Fracking projects, will in future just cause the ground beneath our very feet to just part and swallow us up?

Rotary Club Ormskirk 75th Anniversary Charter Night Celebration Dinner

Ormskirk Rotary Club celebrated their 75th Anniversary of Charter Night with a celebration dinner at the Old Printworks Restaurant on Friday 20th January.

Representatives from many  local Rotary and Roundtable Clubs joined in with the celebrations.   Among the invited guests was the Venerable Bob Metcalf, Archdeacon Emeritus of Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, who gave the keynote speech.



In addition, West Lancs Mayor Rob Bailey and Mayoress Sue Murrin Bailey were at the dinner to congratulate the Rotarians on their local charity fundraising.  It was reported that the Christmas float had raised a huge £6,800, a record amount, all of which is to be donated to local charitable causes.
