Ormskirk Churches Together Walk of Witness Good Friday 2012

Ormskirk Walk of Witness Good Friday 2012

In a distant echo of the walk Christ took with his cross on the way to crucifixion,  local Christians from Ormskirk and Aughton in West Lancashire, walked together as part of a Walk of Witness on Good Friday.

Altar Servers from St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church carried the large wooden cross at the head of the procession around Ormskirk's town centre.

Despite the differences in the way the various strands of Christianity in the Ormskirk area worship Christ,  the Churches Together group celebrates a shared belief in Christ as saviour.  On Good Friday the various church clergy and their parishioners came together to visibly demonstrate this shared faith.
